Abstract
The Un/Archived Textiles project aims to address and promote sustainable consumption and production patterns as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG12). Un/Archived Textiles creates a space in the minds of people in the Greenwich community to be able to share, promote and provide solutions in order to reduce waste. It engages individuals in how their purchasing choices affect cheap labour force and provide a hope of prosperity through creating positive solutions. Over consumption and high demands on the production of textiles has enhanced human-trafficking and modern slavery and has also contributed to the destruction of our habitat. Through our initiatives we are raising awareness over this unsustainable production model and designing solutions which are within our reach in our everyday consumption decisions.

Description
The Un/Archived Textiles project aims to address and promote sustainable consumption and production patterns as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG12). The project involves a hub at the University of Greenwich for swapping clothes, organising repair stations and mending workshops using natural dye. We also provide training sessions and public talks to raise awareness on human rights and environmental abuses in the fashion industry. The research is being undertaken by the Business, Human Rights and the Environment Research Group (BHRE) and had been executed in partnership with the Royal Society of Arts (Human Rights in the World of Fashion and Textiles).
