Abstract

Contrary to the assumptions of political realism, Buddhism argues that are fortunes are not separate and at odds and our underlying social disposition is not selfishness. Rather, our underlying ontology is radically interdependent and impermanent and our fundamental nature is altruistic. This paper offers a Buddhist theory of politics and international relations based on this alternative set of assumptions.
