Abstract
Most students are getting political information from social media. Digital literacy and teaching students the proper role of information and false information is becoming increasingly important. This paper examines the use of fact checking and triangulation of least biased sources in helping students properly understand information in the 21st Century. Taking data from Ad Fontes (2020), Forbes (2017), Gallup/Knight Survey (2018), All Sides Media (2024), and Toward Data Science (2020), a "Least Biased Sources" model allows students to triangulate information and determine true and false news stories. A pilot study is used to show the impact of student learning and assess the impact of least biased sources on the ability to determine real from fake news.
