Abstract
Since 2009, ATU has been working with local schools to do civic education lessons on Sept. 17th for Constitution Day. This has required organizing a dozen or more students per school, training them in lesson plans, and letting them do approximately 30-50 minute instructions in groups of 3-4 students. Such activities have been done for a few as one elementary school to three elementary schools and the junior high. This has been done with as few as 20 to as many as 60 ATU student volunteers recruited from department courses. The benefits have been numerous. It is not just a positive, experiential experience for ATU students, but is a memorable event for the local area primary and junior high students. The ATU students become much more knowledgeable about the Constitution by having to teach it.
