Abstract
This paper explores the initial stages of Cyclone Civics, a campus-wide initiative at Iowa State University aimed at addressing stakeholder concerns about declining civic literacy, knowledge, and engagement. It begins by analyzing the educational and political factors that inspired the initiative. The paper then outlines Cyclone Civics’ objectives and highlights recent progress in its development. Finally, the authors seek insights from the panel on best practices to adopt, as well as potential challenges and opportunities for the initiative moving forward.
